THANK OFFERING | OCTOBER 23
We will take up this special offering Sunday, Ocotber 23rd. It is a time for you and your family to say thank you to God for all the ways He has blessed you in this past year. This offering will go to provide for the turkeys for our Thanksgiving Meals, Hurricane Ian Relief, and our 2023 Food Pack Event and many other opportunities for us to bless the community and those around the world. There are offering envelopes on the back tables or you can give online.
THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION | OCTOBER 30 – NOVEMBER 13
We are beginning our food collection for Thanksgiving. We have lists in the lobby or online of non-perishable items that will make up a complete meal. Please donate what you can. Place the food items on the stage and we will make up the food bags. Gamble Rogers has given us info about the need of 30 families. If you know of a deserving family in need, please let us know with the name, address and contact information.
MENS MINISTRY BREAKFAST | SATURDAY NOVEMBER 12
Mark your calendars, for the Men’s Breakfast that will meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Building B at 8am. We’ll get together to help you get to know some other men in the church, help you grow in your faith, and find ways to serve in the church and around the community.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY MEETING | SATURDAY NOVEMBER 19
Ladies, mark your calendars and plan to join us for a time of fun, food, and fellowship. We meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10am in Building B. If you can, bring a brunch item to share.
FAITH PROMISE SUNDAY | NOVEMBER 20
Mark your calendars as we plan to celebrate Faith Promise Sunday. We will have a meal right after the gathering and we will get a chance to hear about our Missions Ministry and their plans for 2023. We also ask that you would continue to pray about your Faith Promise commitment for 2023.
DECK THE HALLS | NOVEMBER 26 5-7PM
Join us on Saturday, November 26th at 5pm to decorate the church for the Christmas Holidays. We need lots of hands to decorate both inside and out with lights, the tree, the stage and windows. After decorating and working up a hunger, we will continue the festivities with a soup supper. If you would like to bring a soup, mark your connect card and let us know.
MISSIONS COLLECTION IN THE LOBBY
God’s Kitchen: We’re collecting non-perishable items like canned vegetables, rice, potatoes, pasta, etc.
Missions Spotlight
Faith Promise Sunday
In years past, Homeport has supported our Missionaries by sending 10% of our weekly giving. As we sought the Lord’s guidance and direction regarding our missions giving, we felt the draw to change our missions support to a different model. Faith Promise offers all of us an opportunity to trust the Lord. It’s a chance to step out in faith and give above what we give through our tithes and offerings.
On Sunday, November 20th we are hosting our first Faith Promise rally and ask that you begin to prayerfully consider how you will participate in stepping out in faith to support our missionaries the work they are doing around the globe.
